The ABC’s of the XYZ’s
Most of us know what makes a Baby Boom a Baby Boomer; a penchant for conspicuous consumption, fierce independence and life-long activism are generally regarded as by-products of a youth marked with economic prosperity and social upheaval. But what about the generational cohorts that have followed the Boomers? The respective events that shaped Generation X (aged 50 - 36), Generation Y (aged 35 - 20), and Generation Z (21 and younger) are equally compelling, but not as well recognized. In the ABC’s of the XYZ, we will explore the evolution of retail, education and entertainment through the lens of our three youngest generations. Our goal is to better understand not only where these cohorts have been, but more importantly where they might go next.
