Arches National Park is in eastern Utah. The park is adjacent to the Colorado River, 4 miles (6 km) north of Moab, Utah.
It is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including Landscape Arch, the longest of the many natural rock arches, in addition to a variety of unique geological resources and formations. It contains the highest density of natural arches in the world.
The park consists of 76,679 acres (119.811 sq mi; 31,031 ha; 310.31 km2) of high desert located in the Colorado Plateau.
Forty-three arches are known to have collapsed since 1977. The park receives on average 10 inches (250 mm) of rain a year.
Climbing on named arches within the park has long been banned by park regulations. Following Dean Potter's successful free climb on the Delicate Arch in May 2006.
Climbing on other features in the park is allowed, but regulated. The video actually showed two climbers climbing up a rock formation,, although they looked so tiny, it would be very hard to tell if you just casually look at the video.
Double O Arch is the second largest arch within the Devils Garden area—after Landscape Arch of course. As the name implies, there are two arches here, one large, with a span of 71 feet, stacked atop a much smaller arch with a 21-foot span. Both are part of the same sandstone fin.
Double O Arch is located at the far end of the Devils Garden Primitive Loop, 1.93 miles past the Devils Garden trailhead and parking lot at the north end of the Arches Entrance Road. Past Landscape, the trail becomes much more rugged and challenging.
We reached to Double O Arch. It was a quite difficult but very exciting hike indeed!
